Sail in to Venice on Serenade of the Seas

Some of you may know that we sailed out of Venice as our departure port on the Splendour both last month and last year.  Both times it was raining hard and quite overcast--so the view was never as stunning as it is rumored to be.

On the Serenade we had a day and a half stop in Venice--arriving in the early afternoon on the first day and staying until long past dark the following day.  This time we lucked out and had lovely weather.  As an added bonus, the better side for views was Starboard--where our balcony cabins were located.  So, we headed out onto our two extra wide cabins, along with some friends we had met online before the cruise (hi Sarah, Ken and Greg!) and some wine and enjoyed the Venice sail in as it is meant to be.

I have to say, it fully lived up to the hype.  It was really and truly spectacular and I am so glad we had an opportunity to see it.

Here is a small selection of the photos I took from the 30 or so minutes of sail in.  I hope you enjoy them.

It looked like every single ship that sails into Venice had the exact spot it's nose must line up with marked.  I thought that was interesting.
